Damrak is a 10-song compilation album in which producers used Europeana audio content, all recorded in Amsterdam, to create new musical compositions. Sounds of Amsterdam, as captured by archival field recordings and TV broadcasts, were used to generate a soundtrack to the city. The compositions were inspired by historical context gained through images from the Nationaal Archief (The Netherlands) and the Rijksmuseum.

The album is a result of RE:VIVE : a project at The Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision (Nederlands Instituut voor Beeld en Geluid) that focuses on bringing together the worlds of electronic music and archives to promote the creative re-use of digitized materials.
