- The Wikiana prototype (redeveloped as Storyana at a later hackathon) combines Wikipedia with the data available in Europeana.
Visual Chronology is a sketch displaying Europeana search results on a timeline.
- TimeMash is a search client for historical data from Europeana.
- Timebook is an aggregator of information coming from DBPedia, Wikiquote and Europeana about personalities of the past (in particular composers, painters, writers or artists in general). It formats the information in the form of a Facebook-like profile, creating a social network of artists by looking at the influences in each other's works.
The prototype was developed using the Europeana API and YQL (Yahoo Query language) to build a quick and powerful cultural information search tool.
